You use machines to make parts in a shop. The MIT MakerWorkshop community must ensure that none of these four components are at undue risk or damaged.
All users must acknowledge that they have fully read and understood the MIT MakerWorkshop Policies and Safety Policy. All users are to be MIT Mechanical Engineering or Martin Trust Center affiliates (i.e. students, staff or alumni on advisory board) that are covered by MIT insurance.
To become a member, you must attend a Maker Monday and complete shop-specific safety training. To use machines, you must complete machine-specific training and demonstrate competence operating the machine.
Use of MIT MakerWorkshop is not a right, it is a privilege. Failure to follow the safety policy will result in corrective measures ranging from verbal warning to being removed/banned from MIT MakerWorkshop.
